Na’Zir
Na’Zir is truly blessed with talent. He can sing, dance, and play a number of instruments including the saxophone, drums, guitar and flute just to name a few. While he aspires to be a conductor, his current passion is the clarinet. In April 2017 he won a contest at the Kimmel Center and had the opportunity to conduct the Philadelphia Orchestra during their final piece in their Pop Up Concert. It was this event that led Na’Zir to our Foundation. He was asked to attend the Young Musician Program at Curtis Summerfest. He attended in the summer of 2017 and worked with very talented and prestigious musical faculty. In December 2017 he performed in the Philadelphia Young Artist Orchestra season opener at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Na’Zir was recently accepted into the Weinstein Wind Quintet, an advanced chamber ensemble held at the Curtis Brach Settlement School of Music. He was also added to the substitute musicians list of the Philadelphia Wind Symphony which is a pre-professional ensemble. He is currently auditioning for college musical programs all around the United States. http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/arts/At-Philadelphia-Orchestra-pop-up-show-first-timers-try-their-hand-at-conducting.html
